COVER LETTER: This is the schedule for the 6cm NME and ftp fringe-test on 25 October 2017 involving antennas: Jb2, Wb, Ef, Mc, Nt, On85, T6, Ur, Tr, Ys, Sv, Zc, Bd, Hh, Ir, Nk, and MERLIN outstations. The NME uses a standard setup with 512 Mbps during the first 2 hr. The NME uses a standard setup with 2048 Mbps during the last hr (Jb 2Gb). The schedule consists of: - long integrations on calibrator J1848+3219 for ftp-fringe tests; Strong fringes were found in N16C3 on this source. The following ftp-fringe tests are scheduled throughout the experiment (512 Mbps): 12:15:00 (scan 2, 2 sec, J1848+3219) 12:45:00 (scan 6, 2 sec, J1848+3219) 13:15:00 (scan 10, 2 sec, J1848+3219) 13:45:00 (scan 14, 2 sec, J1848+3219) Change to 2048 Mbps setup. 14:10:00 (scan 17, 2 sec, J1848+3219) 14:30:00 (scan 19, 2 sec, J1848+3219) 14:50:00 (scan 21, 2 sec, J1848+3219) Good luck with the session! SCHED provides warnings at individual scans for distances less than 10 degrees. The distance from the Sun to each source in this schedule is: Source Sun distance (deg) J1848+3219 82.0 Barry Clark estimates from predictions by Ketan Desai of IPM scattering sizes that the Sun will cause amplitude reductions on the longest VLBA baselines at a solar distance of 60deg F^(-0.6) where F is in GHz.
