==7mm== We don't have a noisediode to calibrate since we use the choper wheel method. We took some data towards Saturn, see cl08q1on-saturn-all-spectra.ps cl08q1on-saturn-ave-spectrum.ps Single dish gave 1.76 K TA* for Saturn. The flux density estimated from the IRAM program Astro is 36.56 Jy. Thus, the DPFU is 1.76/36.56 = 0.05 K/Jy. VERY different from last time??!! Then we got 0.066 K/Jy using NGC7027. NGC7027 is however much weaker than Saturn (5.34 Jy) at 43 GHz. Note: use the -caltemp switch for antabfs.pl for 43 GHz ============================================================================================ N08Q1: Some rain which can bee seen the in the Tsys-data. ============================================================================================ GB060B: Frost on radom last hours. Quick drop in outside temperature. Can be seen in Tsys. Large idf-change by operator around 2008.291.00:58! Otherwise no known problems. ============================================================================================ ==X-band (dual)== The result from the ONOFF run (cl08x1) can be seen here for day 291. This is after fitting using gnplt: Looks rather stable. Data taken during 292 is much worse. cl08x1on-day291-gain-lcp.ps cl08x1on-day291-gain-rcp.ps cl08x1on-day291-tcal-lcp.ps cl08x1on-day291-tcal-rcp.ps ============================================================================================ N08X1: Good weather, no rain. ============================================================================================ GW019B: Some rain first hours. ============================================================================================ ==S/X== The result from the ONOFF run (cl08sx2) can be seen here for day 293. This is after fitting using gnplt: Looks rather stable but the elevation is low. Data taken during 294 is much worse. NOTICE that there is a difference between cl08x1 and cl08sx2. The difference in the system setup is that for S/X we have to setup a S-band reflector. This has an effect on the SEFD (it increases from about 1000 Jy to 1300 Jy at X-band). cl08sx2o-day-293-tcal-sband.ps cl08sx2o-day-293-tcal-xband.ps calonx-dual-xband.rxg# is the rxg-file for dual X-band and calonx.rxg is rxg-file for S/X. It WOULD BE INTERESTING to re-run pipeline for EK028A with two different set of ANTAB-files (i.e, using different rxg-files.). ============================================================================================ EK028A: Some rain. RFI at S-band. ============================================================================================ == 6cm == We missed most of the experiments due to very bad weather. In addition, we did not get a chance to do any proper ONOFF measurments due to the weather. Thus, as a first rough guess I had to use the rxg-file from the June session. I hope to get some C-band data in the near future and then try to update the ANTAB-files. ============================================================================================ N08C3: To much wind. Could not observe. ============================================================================================ GP047: Bad weather, rain+high wind (tracking problems). Missed first scans, operator forgot to issue mk5relink. Thus, the schedule was halted.... Comment about rain at 13:22 in the log. Could perhaps be the cause of the sudden increase of Tsys after 13 UTC?? ============================================================================================ EF021A: Did not observe. ============================================================================================ EK028B: Did not observe. ============================================================================================ GC031B: Did not observe. ============================================================================================ EL036B: Could observe until 16 UTC. To much wind after that. Source at low elevation at 13 UTC ============================================================================================ GB067: Could not observe. ============================================================================================ EZ018: Bad weather rain. Reason for "jumpy" Tsys?!Reason for "jumpy" Tsys?! ============================================================================================ == 18 cm == ============================================================================================ N08L3: A lot of RFI. No rain. Noisy around 14.30 UTC?? ============================================================================================ EK026: RFI. Late start due to high winds (rain as well...). Started around 03:40 UTC. Antenna wrap around 19:30 UTC. ANTAB-file looks terrible due to RFI. ============================================================================================ EF021B: Some rain. Still quite windy. RFI!! ANTAB-file looks terrible due to RFI!!! ============================================================================================ EK028C: Some rain. Lost noisediode and phasecal after around 21.30 UTC. Problems with the Power Supply (solved the morning after). Last Tsys taken at 21:26 UTC. ANTAB-file looks terrible due to RFI!!! VERY EASY to change the the result depending on WHICH data points (tpdiff) you keep. THIS would be an interesting test case. I could produce different ANTAB-files and we could run several pipeline. ek028con.antabfs.1 is very little edited. Please compare to ek028con.antabfs ============================================================================================ EB037D: ANTAB-file looks terrible due to RFI!! ============================================================================================ ==K-band== 10/11-2008 Problem with RCP seeen in earlier sessions seems to be solved. However, there is an inconsisteny with the DPFU. Earlier single dish observations of DR21 during 2008 suggested 0.072 degrees/Jansky. However, this time we got 0.05 degrees/Jansky based on Saturn. Could you PLEASE re-run the pipeline with 0.072 and 0.05 and let me know!! You only have to change the value in the ANTAB-file. If I have the opportunity I will take new DR21 data. ============================================================================================ N08K4: Still problem with the slope of the IF-band which made it impossible to level up all BBC:s in the 23.8 GHz part. Before we solve this here (will take some time) the only solution is to put in attenuators at each BBC BEFORE the experiment and keep one frequency setup. ============================================================================================ EB037E: Looks reasonable. ============================================================================================
