Code: N14M3 Schedule Version: 2.00 Processed by SCHED version: 11.00 Release of Feb. 15, 2013 PI: Gabriele Surcis Address: JIVE Postbus 2 7990 AA Dwingeloo The Netherlands Phone: +31-521-596508 EMAIL: surcis@jive.nl Fax: Phone during observation: +31-521-596508 Observing mode: Notes: 5cm NME and 4 ftp fringe test for session 3/2014 (128 Mbps, L+R, 2-bit sampling, 2 MHz filters) Please send the disk pack by express to JIVE COVER LETTER: This is the schedule for the 5cm NME and ftp fringe-test on 17 October 2014 involving 8 antennas: Eb Wb1 Jb2 On25 Nt Tr Ys Sr. The NME uses a standard setup with 128 Mbps. The schedule consists of: - long integrations on strong calibrators like DA193, J0927+3902 (4C39.25), and 3C345 for ftp-fringe tests; - linear polarization check using the polarized calibrators J0927+3902, 3C286, and 3C273; - D-terms check using the calibrators DA193 and 3C345; - and phase-referencing part with a continuum source (J1640+3946) as target. Three ftp-fringe tests are scheduled throughout the experiment: 09:09:58 (scan 2, 2 sec, DA193) 10:27:18 (scan 10, 2 sec, J0927+3902 ) 11:57:58 (scan 53, 2 sec, 3C345) Please make sure that the autoftp is set up correctly. Thanks! Good luck with the session! SCHED provides warnings at individual scans for distances less than 10 degrees. The distance from the Sun to each source in this schedule is: Source Sun distance (deg) DA193 113.6 J0927+3902 73.8 3C273 18.5 3C286 39.7 J1640+3946 66.2 3C345 66.6 Barry Clark estimates from predictions by Ketan Desai of IPM scattering sizes that the Sun will cause amplitude reductions on the longest VLBA baselines at a solar distance of 60deg F^(-0.6) where F is in GHz. For common VLBI bands, this is: 327 MHz 117. deg 610 MHz 81. deg 1.6 GHz 45. deg 2.3 GHz 36. deg 5.0 GHz 23. deg 8.4 GHz 17. deg 15.0 GHz 12. deg 22.0 GHz 9. deg 43.0 GHz 6. deg
